Fell into engineering back in 2005. The problem solving side got me hooked. Started Jade out of Waitotara in 2014, and I've got a small team with me now. Proud local, qualified engineer.
What I enjoy about this job is fixing people's problems. Sometimes it's a straightforward fix, sometimes it's something no one else has been able to figure out. I take on whatever comes at me, that's the part I like. It's why we've got farmers we've been looking after for years. They know we'll turn up and get it sorted.
I take a bit of pride in finding a simple solution to a bigger problem too. Find the actual issue, fix what I can, only replace what genuinely needs it. Make it work the simplest way, no point spending thousands on stuff you don't really need.

Do you come out to the farm?+
Yes. That is most of what we do. We load up the ute and come to you, Hawera to Palmerston North.
What areas do you cover?+
South Taranaki, Whanganui, Rangitikei and Manawatu. Waitotara, Patea, Hawera, Eltham, Stratford, Marton, Bulls, Feilding and the towns in between. We will travel further for the right job.
Can you weld aluminium and stainless?+
Yes. MIG, TIG and stick, in steel, aluminium and stainless. Whatever the job needs.
Do you do urgent breakdowns?+
Yes. Broken down mid-harvest or mid-job, give Dan a call. We come out and fix it on the spot where we can.
Do you take after-hours calls?+
Ring anytime. If it's urgent, we do what we can.
How long does a custom trailer take to build?+
Depends on the build, but you get a timeframe with your quote before we start. Tell us what you need it to do and we will sort a realistic date.
Do you sell alkathene?+
Yes. We carry alkathene and have workshop stock ready to go. Give us a call.
Can you fix silage wagons and machinery?+
Yes. Silage wagon repairs, agricultural machinery, effluent gear, yards and dairy farm gear. We fix it so it goes back to work and stays there.
